East End Rowing will once again participate in USRowing's National Learn to Row Day. Head to the Riverhead Town Docks on the Peconic River between 10am and 1pm on Saturday June 5th, 2021 and Learn to Row!
Information on how to register for the East End Rowing Summer Learn to Row program will be available in the 2021 Summer Brochures of the Town of Riverhead Parks and Recreations department.
The Beginner and Level 1 programs is for those with minimal to zero rowing experience. Time spent paddling in kayaks, canoes, or on stand up paddle boards does not count - this is very different!
The Level 2 program is for rowers who have completed the level 1 program or who have demonstrable experience either sweep rowing or sculling. If you know how to properly carry a shell from rack to dock, set it in the water, place your oars in the oarlocks, and execute a rowing stroke, this is the class for you. Rowers who complete the Level 1 class often continue directly into the Level 2 class.
The Level 2/3 program is for rowers who have completed the level 1 program and ideally the level 2 program although completion of the level 2 program is not a prerequisite.
